Hey, social media and “web people” out there, here are two opportunities you might be interested in:

UNEP, The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the United Nations system’s agency addressing environmental issues at the global and regional level. Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action.

They are looking for a Social Networking Consultant for their base in Nairobi, Kenya. The vacancy announcement is available online.

The  Humanitarian Logistics cluster, is responsible for the information sharing and coordination in case of a humanitarian emergency. That includes infrastructure assessments, port & corridor coordination, gathering information of transporters and rates, customs, equipment. Their Rome based coordination cell is looking for a junior web developer to maintain their website and all web applications. An ideal job for a fresh computer graduate, they say. Experience not required. Eagerness, and willingness IS!
